(More customer reviews)Don't lose the instruction book. You may need a magnifying glass to read the extremely small print, but you will need it to set up and use this clock. Once you do, it works fine, although it did take overnight to set the correct time zone. The clock is easy to read, but a couple of indicators, namely the am/pm indicator and the alarm symbol are also very small. I haven't taken any trips, so I don't know how it works while traveling.

Other compalaint:the function switch for setting time and alarm is too small, stiff, and difficult to get into the correct postiton.

The product says the time verbally every hour at its loudest --- and I should note --- only setting. There is no volume control or off setting to turn the talking portion of the clock off --- only a linear button to somehow turn the alarm on and off with a ding dong chime or vibration. It's functionally unusable and is one of the most poorly designed products that I have ever encountered. Save your money and time.

Advance Clamshell Travel Alarm Review

(More customer reviews)I was disappointed in this clock. The case is cheap plastic and the little mechanism that makes it sit upright doesn't work easily or rapidly, so you have to technique it to make it sit upright.
Additionally, the alarm is so quiet that I can't imagine it waking me, or anybody else.
I liked the second hand; I appreciated that it ran on a battery instead of winding, but the silent alarm and difficulty making it sit upright means this one goes in the GoodWill pile. It costs as much to ship it back as it cost.
A bad puchase, save your money.

I wanted such a device to set all of our watches and clocks by. This is THE device. I have tested it against a Casio PAW500 atomic watch and they were both exactly the same. This atomic alarm clock runs on a battery that is easily replaceable. Excellent item, great quality. A rare find in todays world where everything is made in China of inferior materials and no quality control.

CASIO TQ140-1 Travel Alarm Clock Review

(More customer reviews)I've owned two of these for years, they've taken a lot of abuse (we have two small boys) and still work great. Yes, the alarm setting can be off by a bit, but consistently by the same amount. So once you figure out by how much, you can easily make the correct adjustment. A small inconvenience in my opinion, considering the cost and overall quality- they do keep the time accurately. Also, a nice snooze and crescendo feature, not too annoying but loud enough. All in all, a great value.
Update 1/09 Change of features: I just got another one, and noticed they no longer have the snooze and crescendo features. Will see if the reliability is the same as before.

The units are sent with the batteries installed and active (for who knows how long) and thus we could not read the screen on the first one we received. Not knowing if it was the battery or other problems, I sought a replacement. The Company, Weatherbuffs, was outstanding and arranged for a replacement immediately and conveniently. Unfortunately, when the second Bulova arrived directly from Bulova, it didn't work at all! I checked the battery and it was fully charged and yet nothing would work.
Again, Weatherbuffs was super and refunded our money immediately. I am very satisfied with Weatherbuffs - excellent customer service. It was the Bulova Travel Alarm that failed me - twice!

I find it great to have the temperature readout, in both Fahrenheit and Celcius (that way I can whine bi-lingually when it's hot..). I've travelled with it, camped with it, and use it as my everyday bedside alarm. My only complaint is that the snooze button is set for only 5 minutes per "snooze" - hardly enough.
