When we first received it, the kids were happy and it seemed fun to talk to the clock and get answers to questions like: What time is is? What are the alarm sounds? You can even ask it a fortune. Then this thing started talking all day and night!! First we noticed that is talks when someone is talking in the house. It says, "Yes?". Then we noticed that sometimes is talks for no reason, even at night when the house is quiet. This thing is driving me crazy!! Even the kids are complaining that it is waking them up! I don't know how long we will keep it.

My daughter placed the vibrator under his pillow and the clock high on the wall where he had to get out of bed to turn it off. The numbers are big enough to read from across the room, and he hasn't been late to school since!
Although he has several alarm clocks, he could sleep through all of them, so I used to call him on the phone to wake him up. Sometimes it took several calls to accomplish this, because he could sleep through a ringing phone, too!
He doesn't sleep through the Wake Assure, though.
It's a good clock. I recommend it to anyone who has trouble waking up to an ordinary alarm clock.

This past summer I lived with a few other people and they would come into my room in the morning and yell at me, because my old alarm would wake them up but I would sleep through it, despite the fact that it was positioned right next to my head.
While I do not believe this alarm reaches 113 decibels or that it is louder than a jackhammer, I will say that it is much louder than your standard alarm clock. The vibrator works very well and is guaranteed to wake up even the deepest of sleepers. You can put it under your mattress, which will cause the majority of it to vibrate, or you can place it against a solid object which will cause a loud vibrating noise. I opted to keep mine under my mattress.
Many people have posted that their units burned out or that it kept time incorrectly. This is because they failed to look at the directions. In the directions that come with the alarm clock there is information detailing a switch on the backside of the unit. It is labeled 24hrs 50hz, 12hrs 50hz, and 12hrs 60hz. This switch not only controls the time format(12 hour vs. 24 hour), but also controls the tuning of the internal electronics. In European countries, 24 hour time format is standard, and wall outlets alternating current runs at a frequency of 50hz. In America, most people use the 12 hour time format, and our electrical outlets operate at a frequency of 60hz. What this means is that if you have this switch in the wrong position, you run the chance of damaging your unit, and you will notice that the time will not be accurate(it says this in the manual).
The only thing that keeps this alarm from getting five stars is the face that I can't use the 24 hour time format. I live in the US but work on a military base and have become accustomed to the 24 hour time format.
tldr; This alarm will wake you up, just make sure to read the manual or you run the risk of incorrect time and a fried alarm clock.

(More customer reviews)My 19 year old son was always a very hard sleeper. Throughout his school years, we would have shouting matches in the morning trying to wake him up to get to school on time. Mornings were always chaotic and seemed to get off on the wrong foot! We had even tried medication prescribed by his physician to try to help him change his sleep habits. This failed miserably.
When he moved out and went out into the workforce, he had trouble keeping jobs because he was always reporting late to work. Which meant he constantly had trouble paying his bills now that he was living on his own.
One afternoon, he asked us if there wasn't something we could buy that could "shock" him each morning to wake him up. As a last ditch effort to help him, I decided to browse online for something that could "shock" him awake.
I discovered this clock and decided to try it. To get to the point, he has not reported late since I gave him the clock. Thank you Sonic Boom!!

(More customer reviews)Purchase of this clock was to wake a deaf person when no one was home to do just that and it has done just that, as of right now there are no problems, BUT, this clock is so poorly made, the plastic is very thin, you don't dare knock it on the floor, it would nor survive, and the LED bars that it uses, well even set at their brightest, they don't look "solid", they waver, some bars are much dimmer then others, my fear is that they will soon go out, I wish West Clock still made alarm clocks for the deaf, my mother had one for many years, when she died, we were moving her belongings and it was stolen.

(More customer reviews)This product lives up to its billing. I have had other alarm clocks that claimed to use a 120 decibel alarm, but they only seemed a third as loud as this. When this thing went off the first morning I used it, it just about blew me out of bed, and all I could think was "make it stop! make it stop!" It sounds like about 4 home fire alarms going off at once except much louder and much more painful.
It's Sunday evening and I'll set the dang thing again, but for 15 minutes after my regular alarm goes off. I think I'll get up quickly to shut off the Meanie before it sounds--I really don't want to hear it ever again.

(More customer reviews)The Westclox "Bell Ringer II" alarm clock is an excellent value alarm clock that really offers you a lot. The clock is easy to use and it lasts years.
Although the clock may feel or look cheaply made, don't let that fool you. It's both reliable and easy to operate. For example, all you need to do to "snooze" for another five minutes is push on that button and temporarily end that infernal racket that just made oh, so sure that you're awake! The numbers on the clock are easy to read and there is even a hand to mark the seconds. The alarm with its bell sound is neat; what a cool throwback feature to the days of alarm clocks that had to be wound up every night! I like that "retro" touch.
The hands have "glow-in-the-dark" features but in the dark they you may have to move closer to the clock to see them--they are visible in the dark but the hands are definitely not as bright as they could have been. Oh, well.
The clock runs on one C size battery--that's easy enough by me! Make sure to change the battery as frequently as every two or three months to make absolutely certain that the clock will run accurately. In addition, the clock is rather compact which makes it an ideal choice for people on the go or vacationing away from home.
Overall, for this price range you get a basic but reliable and long-lasting alarm clock by Westclox. I highly recommend this clock.

Vibra Alarm Clock Review

(More customer reviews)First of all, I had to unscrew a teeny screw from the back just to install the 3 AAA batteries required. I did not have a screwdriver small enough so I used a pocket knife and it was very tedious at that.
Secondly I tried the alarm- it has a buzzer function and a vibrate function, but no combination of the two which is extremely annoying. The alarm is exactly like a watch alarm and for those who have heard one of those ... it's VERY faint.
There's no way the vibration would wake anyone up who is used to a regular vibrating clock..... much less intense.
The worst part about the clock (if it is possible to get worse) is that it automatically shuts off the alarm after 30 seconds!!! For both the buzzer AND vibrate function- I usually take longer than 30 seconds to wake up anyway, so this alarm would not ever be able to work for me.
If you are looking for a travel clock that is useless, takes up space in your luggage, and will never wake you up, this is the one for you! :)
I returned it immediately.

(More customer reviews)What was once a lost cause has now turned into self-discipline and little nagging from parents. This alarm clock uses a variety of methods that change until it is turned off. There are a variety of buzzer sounds, lights flash, and the ingenious mattress jiggler that all combine to get our son out of bed on his own most of the time. We still do a run-by to see if has ignored it, since we are so used to having to shake him to wake him. We have been pleasantly surprised to see such an improvement!! I think the other half of the equation is his desire to wake up, and we're still working on that, but at least he hears and feels this one!!

T101 Table Clock Review

(More customer reviews)If you just need an alarm clock to tell the time and get you out of bed get this one. It more than gets the job done. I was looking for a bedside clock, no radio, no projection, no gimmicks, and after a very very long internet search came across this nice little clock. If you're just looking for a basic alarm clock for a low price this is the one to get! It has more bells and whistles than a regular clock, 9 minute snooze (of course it MUST have the SNOOZE feature), automatic reset/off alarm button, on/off alarm button, and loud/soft alarm noise button. This really will look attractive on your bedside/living room end table/kitchen counter and it comes in different colors too. The black looks very attractive on my bedside table. It has good heft/weight to it too, giving it a feeling of a quality made product that will last for years. The brightness of the display is perfect, not too dim, not too bright. I was looking at analogue clocks but this one is a beauty compared to the two previous analogue clocks I had and has a PM light indicator, Alarm On indicator, and a low back up battery indicator besides. The alarm will go off for two hours before automatically turning off (leave home/apt. and forget to turn it off), and the snooze feature will go off every 9 minutes as long as you keep pressing it, and the feature will automatically turn itself off after 2 hours (do you really need more than that, reset the alarm). It is nice and compact so it doesn't take up too much room. Besides this clock is electric so batteries are no longer a concern. This is a nice quality, attractive product that seems like it will last a very long time (much better quality than my Timex battery powered analogue clock, much better looking, and it's both heavier and smaller at the same time). Other reviews state the snooze button is located too close to the alarm off button (may accidently press it instead), but I have had absolutely no problem distinguishing between the two buttons, especially given their size, and it isn't even a concern to me. I should also include that I thought analogue was the way to go, but the digital display on this is of high quality, is easy on the eyes at night, and having reach over to press a button to see the time in the dark is no longer an issue. So get this clock it's a no-brainer with more than enough features to ensure this is the alarm clock you will be glad you purchased. I think it's worth more than I paid for it!

I bought this by mistake and I'm very disappointed but it's really my bad. Identical looking with this model, the SB300ss SBD375ss are the ones with a 113 decibel alarm (supposedly louder than a smoke alarm!) The alarm on this clock is _pitiful_. It's softer than a regular alarm clock. The previous reviewer is mistaken in stating that this clock has a loud alarm. He was probably referring to one of the models I've mentioned above. Don't make the mistake I made. I gave it four stars for the bed shaker (pretty powerful!) that I put under my mattress. If this had the loud alarm I thought it had, I would have given it 5 stars. The casing is a bit crude and cheap looking (looks a lot better in the picture.) If you don't want/need the 113 decibel alarm, go with this one. Otherwise get one of the other 2 models with a 113 decibel alarm.

Clarity 600 Wake Assure Alarm Clock With Bed Shaker Review

(More customer reviews)I love this clock because it wakes me up every time. I am deaf in one ear and am a deep sleeper. Until now, I haven't been able to find a clock that would awaken me reliably. I have to take medicine during the night, so I need a clock that will wake me up consistently. I use all three modalities together--alarm, light flasher, and bed shaker. I think the shaker has the most effect on me. It's not unpleasant, but it does get my attention. If I were to change anything about the clock, I would add the ability to set two separate alarms because sometimes I need to get up more than once before night's end. It would also be nice if one could make the numbers go in reverse when selecting an earlier hour for the alarm. However the clock and alarm are not difficult to set.
