After replacing a few light bulbs in lamps surrounding my desk, suddenly I felt more in the mood to write and my creativity started to flow better in general. Could replacing a 100W light bulb truly have such an effect?
To explore this further I read this on the back of the light:

I'm happy I didn't read that before I experienced the effects because now I realize they are in fact wildly correct. This light will:
Mimic natural light
Enhance reading
Promote Well-Being
Now that I think of it, when I created most of my recipes, I was in a kitchen with
special fluorescent light bulbs that mimicked natural sunlight.
If you want to feel happy all the time indoors, could it be as simple as replacing all the light bulbs?
I'm willing to give this a try and if you have SAD or problems with depression, this could be a relatively painless and inexpensive solution.
Some of the lights are more expensive than others, but five dollars for an improved mood seemed fairly tame. The Neodymium color on the lights also makes the lighting look less yellow and is a rare earth element used in space age technology.
These light bulbs are packed especially well in their boxes so they don't move around and break, which gives me the confidence to order quite a few more. With an average life of 5,000 hours, I imagine after your initial investment, you can save a lot of money over time.
After ordering, give these three days and then see how you feel.

Sunrise Dawn Sun Simulator Alarm Clock Review

I have had two sunrise lamps; both have died when their plastic buttons gave out after 4-5 years of use. I decided to replace that bulky lamp with this product, which uses a regular lamp (I can determine the wattage and have a prettier lamp!), takes up very little bedside table space and costs about 20% less.
This is a far better product than the all-in-one sunrise lamp. I appreciate that the backlight can be turned off completely on this unit. The clock has all the features I loved in the bulky lamps: I can vary the time for sunrise and sunset and it includes a security setting for when I am away. Turning on and off the lamp also is far easier with this unit than with the all-in-ones.
The only flaw in this clock is in the design of its cords/plugs. The clock was designed in the UK, where large cords are the norm and every plug is grounded. The wires on this are way too big, the plug is three-prong and the weight of the wire and can make the unit somewhat unsteady on a table top. I have mine on the edge of the bedside table, which is perfect for me, allows the wires to hang over and keeps the unit very stable. I am happy to live with this minor drawback -- this is a wonderful product and I am delighted to have found it!

Morning Sunrise System Dawn Dusk Sun Alarm Clock SRS260 Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this dawn simulator250 mainly to wake-up with my favorite music with their advertised MP3 player.
But lo and behold..... this very expensive almost $200 dollar radio/alarm/ etc
couldn't handle a FAT 32 sim card. It only accepts 16 fat which is outdated and
is not in use any more by almost any computer. I sent and email to the company
www.morningsunrise.com which apparently is responsible for the manufacturing of this product,
but they NEVER returned my email nor did they address my concerns in any way.
So I got stocked with another alarm clock with no radio and no mp3 player. My advice to you:
DO NO WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON THIS PIECE OF JUNK.

Sunrise SAD Therapy Light Box w/ Dawn Simulator Review

(More customer reviews)This is my third light box, and the main reason I ordered it was because I wanted to try a dawn simulator. The dawn simulator really hasn't helped me to get up, but that could just be me. I do like the fact that this light box is small and puts off a white light (I have a blue light, which I hate), but overall, I cannot recommend it.
The only reason I do not like this light is because the interface on the box is horrendously bad. There aren't a lot of options, and yet, I have to keep the manual closeby so I can lookup how to use it every time I want to do something. I couldn't even figure out how to turn the light off in the morning. I now only use it as a regular light box, but even that is a problem because I have to click, click, click through all the options to set the timer even though I set it to the same time every time I use it. Finally, to change one menu option, I have to go through every single option every time (i.e. it won't let you exit the menu early).
Just FYI, I am an engineer, so it's not that I am illogical or can't figure things out. This interface is just so horrible that it is frustrating and makes me wants to throw the thing out the window. The only reason I don't is because of how much money I spent on it.
Pass this one by... I think there are probably better light boxes on the market (my favorite is no longer produced or I would recommend it). I also would not recommend this as a dawn simulator - try one of the others on the market.

Soleil Sunrise Alarm Clock Radio Ultima Review

(More customer reviews)After I managed to break the globe on my beloved Biobrite Sunrise Alarm Clark and was unable to find a replacement, I settled for the Soleil out of desperation and against my better judgment. It looked way too small to wake even a mite and, boy, was I right! "Compact" does not even begin to describe the Soleil's diminutive dimensions. Now, to be fair, if you happen to be a light sleeper in a small space, and you're facing the clock with the bulb aimed squarely at your eyelids, and you happen to respond to its rather anemic glow, then maybe, just maybe, it will wake you up. But if not, you better use the beeper function or late to work you're gonna be. Better yet, buy a REAL sunrise alarm clock and not this overpriced toy.

It might be a bit intense when you first turn it on, but you'll get used to it very quickly. The lamp was easy to put together, and has two different settings of lighting intensity. The light emitted is very easy on the eyes, and is excellent for reading, computing, or any everyday task. The unit also uses very little power and has a small footprint.
Everybody should get one of these, especially if you have Seasonal Anxiety Disorder. It works, bottom line.
