(More customer reviews)Overall, this is a nice piece. It's smaller than I expected; I guess I really blew visualizing measurements that day. The frame is very well made and the detail is quite nice. I am very pleased with the overall appearance. The coloration is smooth with no outstanding dark or light spots. It does have several chip marks; but, they simulate chipped stone, adding a nice touch to the appearance. It has a felted base and decent weight. It's heavier than expected. A very solid piece.
The clock is another matter. It is very poorly made out of brittle plastic. The face plate dislodged upon removing it from packaging. The face plate has another problem; if the plate is pressed too hard, it blanks out the clock and resets itself. It functions perfectly when handled with care. Although battery operated, it keeps perfect time, date and temperature readings. It is not back-lit and cannot be seen in the dark. The alarm is not intended for a wake up call after a good night's sleep. It's barely audible. It has 8 sound settings from music to various beep patterns. It also has a timer function and a sleep mode (up to 60 minutes). The display is small and cannot be easily seen from across the room. The interface is easy to learn; which is a good thing. It comes with a poorly written and very small printed instruction sheet. The quality is far below expected; but, it performs it's functions well when handled carefully.
This piece is designed for the office desk top. The alarm is loud enough to get your attention; but, not loud enough to disturb your co-workers. It's size is perfect and doesn't consume your space. It's visually stunning and functions well. A nice piece of art.
So, to sum it up.
Frame - Excellent piece of art. 5 stars
Clock - Disappointingly fragile and very low quality. 2 stars
