Inexpensive (did I say that already?) and really feels like it. It's alright for what I need it for but I would be unhappy with this as a more permanent solution. Backlight is so intense that it's useless since it washes out the LED display. Might make a good flashlight though. I bought it for travel, I'll probably use it once and get rid of it.

For timely wake-up alerts on the road, Equity by La Crosse offers this solar/battery hybrid travel alarm clock. The silver plastic clock folds flat and protected travel. When folded back, the cover serves as the clock's stand for tabletop display, and also exposes its built-in solar panel to the light. The clock converts absorbed light into power, thus extending the clock battery's life to upwards of two years. On the its LCD screen, the clock conveys the time of day, the alarm's time setting, the month and date, the day of the week, and the indoor temperature, offered in either Celsius or Fahrenheit degrees. AM/PM indicators distinguish between morning and evening hours. Reluctant risers benefit from the snooze function to silence the loud beep-style alarm. Below the LCD, five buttons enable the user to adjust the date, time, and alarm settings, activate the snooze function, and engage the green backlight for LCD illumination in the dark. The clock comes with one CR2032 battery for hybrid power. With a folded thickness of 1 inch, the clock measures 3 inches wide by 3-1/2 inches deep by 3-1/2 inches high when open.
