The picture and description makes it sound like a great toy for a 9 year old boy, with the alarm clock and compass built in to a flashlight. What a joke - you can't even hear the alarm; there's no way that's going to wake a boy. And the flashlight isn't bright enough to see your way anywhere. The entire unit is very small and the instructions are even full of typos. Pretty pathetic. After trying it, there was no way I was giving it as a Christmas present. The idea was cute, but the product is pathetic. Don't spend your money
