Westclox 1964 Big Ben Classic Black Alarm Clock Review

Wont run much more than 24 hours on single wind, need plyers to turn hands spinner. This cheap plastic clone is not as loud as original metal Big Ben, nor are luminus hands as visible in dark. There are no luminus dots by numbers either. Unsatisfied with product.

The clock cost 19.00, while shipping was 21.00. When I did receive the item the clock did not work. The snooze function would not shut off rendering the alarm non-functional. Attempts to return the defective clock was nearly impossible and cost to return it would only double the shipping cost well over the value of the clock. This experience will likely discourage me from similar purchases in the future.NYL Holdings #47547 .7" LCD Alarm Clock

While this is only a non radio alarm clock it serves it's purpose. The dual alarm feature works well and the setting controls are very simple to use. The only downside is that the volume is loud and there is no way to turn it lower so you may wake up in a startle. Overall very nice for the price.

Westclox 1964 Big Ben Classic White Alarm Clock Review

Westclox 1964 Big Ben Classic White Alarm Clock
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This clock is cheaply made compared with those made in the U.S. decades ago. Just about everything is plastic, including the lens. If the lens were glass, one could see the numbers and hands easily. But instead, the lens is plastic -- smoked plastic. As a result, there is little contrast between the numbers/hands and the surface behind them. So the clock is difficult to read, even in a well-lit room from just a few feet away. The picture shown on the item description page is totally misleading!

The windup keys and dial knobs are too close together for adults.
It is almost impossible for me to wind the clock and adjust the time.
Also, when fully wound it won't run 24 hours. I bought the Baby Ben because I hate the buzzers on electric alarms. But now I found a battery one with a variety of tones to choose from.

Big Ben 2000 Baby Ben Deluxe Clock Review

Big Ben 2000 Baby Ben Deluxe Clock
Average Reviews:

This clock sucks so badly that you could use it as a vacuum cleaner!
It keeps time very erratically. It will keep time perfectly for 3 or 4 days, then become very fast or very slow. If you adjust the fast/slow screw the clock overcompensates (if it was too fast it will now be too slow). It's supposed to run 36 hrs., but, now that I've had it for a couple of months, it stops after 10 or 12 hr.
Bottom line, don't waste your money. Spend a little more and get something decent.

Known to collectors as "Style Ten," this Baby Ben wind-up alarm clock is an updated variation of Westclox's traditional Big Ben design. The clock's solid metal base and bezel are complemented by a charcoal-colored case and a glass lens. Easy-to-see numbers and hands adorn the silver dial. The alarm-shutoff button sits on top of the clock, and there are separate winders to set the time and the alarm. The clock measures 4-1/2 by 4-1/4 by 3 inches.

Average Reviews:

When I was looking for a wind up clock, I found this and immediately liked the look of it. I read many reviews and they were not too good. I thought I would still take a chance because no other clock had this look and the button on top. I'm glad I took the chance. I've had the clock for a month now and it keeps great time. I have not had to adjust it yet. I wind it every night before I go to bed. I haven't had a problem with the winding running out in 24 hours. The ring is loud but not too loud. The size is perfect to sit on a night stand. The ticking also isn't too loud but you can still hear it. If the house is quiet, I can hear it. If the central air comes on, I can't hear it too well. I love the button on top. No fidgeting to find the switch on the back of the clock to turn off the alarm. The only reason I give this clock 4 stars is because of the plastic back and base. I was under the impression the back and base would be metal.

I bought this clock to replace one that got broken. I mailed it back to be fixed. It could not be repaired. Equity sent me a replacement, which is a different model. I haven't opened the one from Amazon yet, but it is the same model clock that got broken. Thank you.

Wake up to the loud extended bell ring of this beautiful alarm clock from Equity by La Crosse. With its classic key-wound design, the clock eliminates the necessity of electricity or batteries, requiring only the manpower to regularly wind the clock. The clock keeps time for up to 30 hours per winding. The clock is crafted in durable metal casing with a padded base to prevent scratches to tabletops. Framed by a handsome brass-plated bezel, a glass lens protects the white clock face. Contrasting black numerals and minute markers circle the clock's dial. The clock points to the hour and minute with luminous hands and hour dots for a gentle night glow. Additionally, a long slender clock hand ticks off seconds and another clock hand indicates the alarm time. On the backside of the clock, users set the time and alarm with the designated knobs and activate the alarm with its on/off pin. Should the clock run fast or slow when fully wound, the user can adjust the regulator's level with the provided control. Made in China, this item is covered by a limited manufacturer's warranty. The clock measures 4-1/2 inches wide by 2-1/2 inches deep by 5-1/2 inches high.

WESTCLOX FOLDING LCD TRAVEL Review

WESTCLOX FOLDING LCD TRAVEL

The electronics on this travel alarm clock were somehow fried from day one: it holds its set time/date for less than a minute to 24 hours before automatically resetting itself to zero etc.
Do not buy this clock or, if you must, make sure to buy from a merchant with a good/clear return policy. (I did not buy it from/via Amazon).

Westclox Travelmate Folding Alarm Clock Review

Westclox Travelmate Folding Alarm Clock
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After spending quite a long time shopping on-line and in the stores (I returned two travel clocks after getting them home), I purchased this travel clock. It is very inexpensive, extremely easy to use (no manual necessary), and works very well. The alarm is neither too loud nor too soft, it doesn't collapse when open (like two other travel alarms I purchased), it's made of lightweight plastic (reasonably durable--very sturdy compared to some three times the price), has an unlimited 4-minute snooze feature, and lights up when the snooze button is depressed. It would have been nice if the numbers stayed lit at night and the lighting feature is EXTREMELY dim, at best. Nevertheless, it is very lightweight and measures only 3-1/2" x 2-1/2" x 1/2"--can fit anywhere, even in a pocket. The only other possible downside is that it uses a 1.5V button battery instead of a standard AA or AAA. Nevertheless, I like it enough to use it at night in place of the abrasively loud alarm clock I previously used, which my kids have nightmares about.

Designed for beside the bed at home or on the road, the Travelmate clock from Westclox is streamlined and simple with handy features and a straightforward functionality. Slightly angled for easy reading, the clock features a 1/2-inch rectangular time display above a panel of switches and buttons. The features include an alarm, a snooze setting, and a backlight, all controlled from the front of the piece. Easy to flip shut for packing, the clock uses its cover as an integrated stand when open. Approximately 3-1/2 by 1/2 by 2-1/2 inches, the clock runs on a button battery, which is included.

I have had this for a little while and it keeps good time so far. The picture of the clock shows one that was made in USA, but the clock I got was made in China so I am worried about its durability since I got a Chinese one that lasted less than 2 years and my American made one lasted 17 years. The clock looks differently from the picture as well.

Bell and Howell Glow in the Dark Alarm Clock Review

Bell and Howell Glow in the Dark Alarm Clock
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
If you are actually looking for a glow in the dark clock you do NOT want this clock. I hate having to backlight a clock to see what time it is in the night so I purchased this battery operated glow in the dark clock. Well it doesn't glow in the dark and you cannot tell what time it is without having to turn on the light, which totally defeats the purpose of this clock.
The only thing this clock does is keep time, and I don't know how accurate it is on that either as I have only had the clock for a week.

Average Reviews:

I agree with a previous review that a more detailed description would be helpful. This classic Big Ben is a wind up clock with a familiar ticktock sound and loud alarm. It is not the electronic look-alike version. But this 1960s technology is exactly what my eighty year old Mom was wanting. Delivery and service were great.

Westclox 1949 Big Ben Quartz Cream Alarm Clock Review

Westclox 1949 Big Ben Quartz Cream Alarm Clock
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this clock even after reading the so-so reviews here because I like the looks of it. So far it is keeping perfect time and the alarm goes off as set. It looks lovely on the bedside table which was important to me. I'm glad I got it in ivory, it really is attractive. The knobs on the back are long enough for easy setting and hitting the alarm off button in the morning is easy. I didn't mind having to use a screwdriver to open the back to insert the battery. The alarm is loud enough to wake me, a heavy sleeper but can be jolting for you sensitive types. :-)
Typical of phosphorescent or luminescent dials, it will glow for a while after lights are out but will fade long before morning. I thought this clock was worth the $21.95 but not the $34.50 that you'll see it for in one of those yuppie catalogs.
