To project the time and temperature or to illuminate the time so that you can see it in the dark, you have to press the snooze button. Once you fumble around to press the snooze button in the dark, you have just a couple of seconds to either look at the ceiling to see the time or to look at the illuminated clock.
The instructions also say that if you use the power cord, you can only use it for a few hours at a time.
This clock is completely worthless as a projecting clock or as a clock to use in the dark.
