(More customer reviews)This item worked great for me when I did my three fingers lookout hike in late October (check it out on YouTube)It is definitely a basic headlight but it performs extremely well for the 8 dollar price tag. The one thing that I was not expecting but was pleasantly surprised by was that the middle bulb, 3 on top and bottom, one in the middle, is a diffuse bulb and is not ultra bright like the other 6 bulbs in the headlamp. This is mode three on the switch and it allowed me to read my green ways topographical map in my tent without it being too bright which hurt my eyes in my tent from the reflection. To comment on the battery life as the listing description talks about is true. I changed the batteries after 4 over night camping trips so they do last a while.
Bottom line is that this product will not perform like a Petzl but this out performed my expectations, so much so that I purchased 2 units for Christmas presents.
