(More customer reviews)I had to cruise many sites, trying to find out what exactly this product was. Since it was somewhat unclear still, until I received it, I'm writing to help other people know what they're looking at.
The little clock is heavy, and rests on the back of its screw-on travel case, which appears to be brushed stainless steel. The clock is heavy for its size, which is the only thing that makes it stable enough to sit in a shallow groove on the outside surface of the protective case. Everything looks and feels as if it is of very good quality.
You set the alarm time by rotating the outer edge of the clock face. The alarm off/on toggle is behind the clock, at the top backside, equivalent to where the the white dot is on the clock face.
I believe you have to actually take the clock off its stand to turn the alarm off and on, but I have only tried it one time so far. The alarm starts off faintly, for 8 pulses, louder for 8 pulses, then loud at double-time speed.
The clock time is set via an inset, grooved piece, which is turnable in either direction.
This is a pricey clock, but it really has nice presence. If it turns out to be not ideal for the bedroom, it will look terrific in my office. A real standout, as a utilitarian example of art design!
